At IFA 2026 in Berlin, Aqara unveiled a new lighting series of five products, every one supporting Matter over Thread and Zigbee. Alongside the range, the company announced „Aqara Builder“, a community platform aimed at enthusiasts, developers and installers.
Five new lights for indoors and outdoors
The series comprises the Floor Lamp T1, the LED Downlight T2, the LED Strip T2 and two outdoor systems: the Outdoor String Lights H1 and the Permanent Outdoor Lights H1. The headline product is the Floor Lamp T1: 1,420 mm tall, with 18 individually controllable zones, up to 1,000 lumens and a white range spanning 2,000 K to 9,000 K. According to Aqara, a 16-bit, five-channel chip enables smooth gradients and animated effects.
The LED Downlight T2 comes in an RGB CCT version and a CCT-only version, the latter reaching up to 1,200 lumens. Aqara says the LED Strip T2 packs 108 LEDs per meter, 18 zones per three-meter section and music-reactive effects, and can be trimmed to length. Both outdoor lights are weatherproof, cuttable and extendable.
Thread without a hub – Zigbee for deeper integration
All five products connect via Thread directly to Matter platforms including Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, Home Assistant and Homey. In Thread mode the Aqara Zigbee hub is no longer required, though a compatible Thread Border Router is. Choosing Zigbee, by contrast, delivers tighter integration with Aqara’s own sensors and automations.
What is Aqara Builder?
According to Aqara, Aqara Builder is a community platform where enthusiasts, developers, installers and creators can share smart-home projects and automation ideas. The company did not announce pricing or firm availability dates for the lighting series at the reveal.
