Godot 4.7.2 Released: 57 Bug Fixes for the Open-Source Engine

The open-source game engine Godot has been released in version 4.7.2. The maintenance update bundles 57 bug fixes from 39 developers – and, according to the project, is a safe upgrade with no known breaking changes.

What was fixed

  • Threading & security: hardened threading; the mbedTLS networking layer now strictly uses the operating system’s entropy source.
  • Input: fixed lag caused by high-polling-rate mice (Windows) and an IME popup issue under KDE Plasma with fractional scaling (Linux).
  • Rendering & multiplayer: corrected PCSS shadow calculation and a multiplayer bug where peers stopped replicating nodes after a node was deleted.

Availability

Godot 4.7.2 is available for Linux, macOS and Windows – in the standard and .NET editions, along with export templates and a web editor. For projects still running 4.7.1, it is a direct, safe upgrade.
