Apple has published the official repair pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Anyone needing an out-of-warranty battery replacement for the new Pro models will face higher costs than with previous device generations.
Battery Service Price Increases by Ten Dollars
As an update to the official iPhone repair support page reveals, Apple is charging a service fee of $129 to replace the battery in the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. That is ten dollars more than for the predecessor models: For the iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, the official flat rate is $119 each.
Apple notes that this fee applies to out-of-warranty repairs. Before finalizing the repair cost, the manufacturer inspects the submitted smartphone for additional damage. If power issues occur, users should first check whether a hardware defect is present or if their iPhone won’t charge before ordering a paid replacement. Software updates can also have a temporary impact, as explanations regarding increased battery drain after system updates show.
Larger Battery Capacities in Pro Models
The price adjustment coincides with increased battery capacities. According to technical specifications for the EU market, the iPhone 18 Pro features a 4,056 mAh battery (milliampere-hours, the measure of stored electric charge). Its direct predecessor, the iPhone 17 Pro, came with 3,988 mAh. For the iPhone 18 Pro Max, the capacity increases from 4,823 mAh (iPhone 17 Pro Max) to 5,391 mAh.

In addition to battery replacements, Apple also lists the other out-of-warranty service rates for the new models:
- Back glass repair: $159 (iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max)
- Rear camera: $249 (both models)
- Screen damage: $329 for the iPhone 18 Pro, $379 for the iPhone 18 Pro Max
- Screen and back glass damage: $419 (Pro) / $469 (Pro Max)
- Other damage: $849 (Pro) / $899 (Pro Max)
