PocketBook Q: Smartphone-Sized E-Reader Debuts at IFA 2026

At IFA 2026, PocketBook is showing the PocketBook Q, an e-reader in a particularly compact smartphone format that can be operated comfortably with one hand and fits into a jacket pocket or a small bag.

Display and Controls

At its core is a 5.84-inch E Ink Carta 1300 display with touchscreen functionality. Additional physical page-turn buttons on the sides allow turning pages with one hand. SMARTlight adjusts brightness and color temperature, while a Dark Mode makes reading easier in low light. The device runs on a Linux-based operating system.

Features and Formats

The PocketBook Q supports 25 e-book formats without conversion, as well as Adobe DRM and LCP DRM. The PocketBook x Libby (OverDrive) app comes pre-installed. Via Bluetooth, headphones or speakers can be paired for audiobooks and text-to-speech. The housing carries an IPX4 rating against splashing water, and PocketBook states more than a month of reading time per charge. PocketBook Cloud and the Reader app sync across multiple devices.

Price and Availability

PocketBook has already named a price of 199 euros. The market launch is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, and silver is initially the only color offered.
