EcoFlow, known for portable power stations, is pushing into the home-storage market: the company has unveiled a new 5 kWh battery line. In the UK, the Stream 5000 and Stream AC 5000 are already up for pre-order – Europe to follow.
From power-station specialist to home storage
With the 5 kWh battery line, EcoFlow expands its portfolio beyond its well-known portable power stations toward permanently installed home energy storage – a market growing fast thanks to balcony solar and rising electricity prices. EcoFlow confirmed the European rollout at Intersolar 2026; the UK launch marks the start ahead of country-specific introductions.
Why it matters
Modular home batteries can be combined with solar modules to store self-generated power and use it in the evening. Especially in combination with balcony or rooftop solar, this reduces dependence on the grid. For consumers, more competition in this segment tends to mean falling prices and more choice.
