Honor has officially unveiled its new user interface, MagicOS 11, which is based on the upcoming Android 17. During a developer conference, the manufacturer showcased visual refinements alongside an extensive list of smartphones and tablets slated to receive the beta version and subsequent final update.
New Design and Accelerated System Performance
Visually, MagicOS 11 incorporates transparent glass elements in a “Liquid Glass” aesthetic that closely resembles Apple’s design language. Under the hood, the company says it employs the “Luminous” and “Hummingbird” system architectures. These are designed to keep the interface responsive despite the extra visual flair, with Honor claiming that animations run roughly 20 percent faster.
For the Chinese market, the manufacturer also announced an upgrade to its built-in voice assistant, Yoyo. It gains expanded artificial intelligence interfaces and is said to handle complex workflows consisting of up to 100 consecutive action steps. Whether and to what extent these AI features will roll out globally remains unclear for now.
These Devices Will Receive the MagicOS 11 Update
A beta build is already available immediately for more than a dozen current models:
- Smartphones: Honor Magic V6, Magic V5, Honor Magic 8 (including Pro, Pro Air, and RSR Porsche Design), Honor Magic 7 (including Pro and RSR Porsche Design), Honor Win, Honor Win RT, Honor GT Pro, as well as Honor 600 Pro, Super, and Vitality
- Tablets: Honor MagicPad 3 and MagicPad 3 Pro
Throughout October and November, additional device models are scheduled to join the beta. These include:
- Foldables and flagships: Honor Robot Phone, Honor Magic Vs3, Honor Magic V2 (including Ultimate and RSR Porsche Design), Honor Magic V Flip 2, as well as the Honor Magic 5 series (standard, Pro, Ultimate)
- Mid-range and upper tier: Honor GT, Honor 300 (including Pro and Ultra), Honor 200 and 100 (both including Pro), Honor 90 GT, and Honor Power
- X series and tablets: Honor X80 Pro Max, X80i, Honor X70 (including Refresh and Pro Max), as well as Honor Tablet 10 and Tablet 20
What This Means for International Users
While Google continues to expand its mobile ecosystem—through features such as the “Resume Activity” hub for Android—Honor’s early roadmap shows that many existing devices are being primed for the latest platform. However, owners of international versions of these devices typically need to be more patient: official rollouts outside Asia usually follow a few weeks or months after the initial beta phases conclude. Affected smartphone owners do not need to take any action right now, as stable updates will eventually arrive via standard system settings.
