At IFA 2026 in Berlin, Dell unveiled the Dell 14S – a deliberately slim Windows notebook that, in both price and looks, takes clear aim at Apple’s MacBook line and at younger, on-the-go users.
Light, thin and colourful
The 14S sits in an aluminium chassis that Dell says measures just 13.5 millimetres and weighs about 1.15 kilograms (roughly 2.5 pounds). It comes in four muted shades: Linen, Dusty Rose, Washed Denim and Velvet Green. The pitch is unmistakably at students and young adults looking for a portable companion to their phone.
Specs and battery
Inside sit Intel’s new Core Series 3 chips (codenamed Wildcat Lake), up to the Core 7 350, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to a 1TB SSD. For the display, buyers choose between a 1920×1200 panel at 60Hz or a sharper 2880×1800 option at 120Hz. Dell rates the 61.2Wh battery at up to 21 hours – a figure measured during video streaming, so a best case under favourable conditions.

There is one catch: Dell has not named a price yet. The machine is due to launch in North America first in autumn 2026, positioned as a cheaper alternative to the XPS 13. Without a concrete number, the single most important factor against MacBook rivals stays unanswered for now.
