The open-source remote-desktop implementation FreeRDP has been released in version 3.31. The update brings numerous security and bug fixes as well as noticeably faster graphics for AVC/H.264 sessions.
What FreeRDP is
FreeRDP is the free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), letting you access Windows machines and servers from Linux, macOS and other systems. Many remote-desktop tools and virtualization solutions build on FreeRDP, so its updates matter far beyond the project itself.

The focus is on numerous security and bug fixes – important because RDP clients and servers are regular targets of attacks. On top of that comes better graphics performance for AVC/H.264 sessions, enabling smoother remote access, especially for moving content and video.
