On the closing day of IFA in Berlin, Motorola stepped back onto the smartwatch stage: the Moto Watch Ultra is the brand’s first watch with LTE and it runs Google’s Wear OS 6. In Europe it starts at 429 euros.
Stainless steel, bright OLED and a W5+ Gen 1
The Ultra uses a 46mm stainless steel case protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Motorola says the 1.5-inch OLED panel hits up to 2,700 nits of peak brightness and supports always-on display. Inside sits Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1, alongside IP68 and 5ATM ratings plus swappable 22mm bands.
LTE, Polar tracking and Wear OS 6
The headline feature is LTE, a first for a Moto watch, letting owners take calls, send texts and receive notifications without a phone nearby. For health metrics, Motorola teamed up with Finnish specialist Polar, whose algorithms cover sleep stages, nightly recovery and calorie tracking.
- Wear OS 6 with access to Google Play, Maps and Wallet
- Dual-band GPS for more accurate routes
- Up to two days of battery, 24 hours from a 15-minute charge
- Google Gemini plus Motorola’s own Qira assistant
Sales begin on 10 September via Motorola.com, with more markets across Europe, the Americas and Asia to follow. Motorola prices it at $349.99 in the US and 429 euros in Germany. After years away, the company is once again challenging Samsung and Google in the premium tier.
