The anonymity-focused live system Tails has been released in version 7.11. The update fixes a bug that prevented the encrypted “Persistent Storage” from activating on some computers, and updates the bundled Tor Browser to version 15.0.20.
What is new
The two central changes in version 7.11:
- Fixed: on some computers, the Persistent Storage – the encrypted, persistent storage area – could not be activated.
- The bundled Tor Browser was updated to version 15.0.20.
What Tails is about
Tails boots as a live system from a USB stick, routes all internet traffic through the Tor network and, by default, leaves no traces on the computer. It is aimed at journalists, activists and anyone who depends on anonymity and privacy. Updating to 7.11 is recommended.
