LG Electronics and NVIDIA are deepening their strategic collaboration, aiming to accelerate robotics and AI development with a dedicated “Data Factory.” The announcement was made on August 28, 2026, at the Seoul Research Campus.
Data Factory at the Core
The heart of the partnership is a shared data facility that combines LG’s manufacturing and operational data with NVIDIA’s Physical AI platforms. It draws on Omniverse, Cosmos and the Isaac developer framework. Robots learn from both real and simulated environments; the collected data is processed and fed into new AI training cycles.
100,000 Hours of Training Data
By the end of 2026, LG is targeting “100,000 hours of real and synthetic training data.” This is intended to advance humanoid systems as well as the CLOiD robot series for household, factory and logistics tasks.
Focus on Household Robotics
LG has established a separate Robotics Business Center to shift its focus from industrial and service robots toward consumer household robotics. With this move, the company aims to play a bigger role in the market for robots in the home.
