Amazon Web Services and Nvidia are massively expanding their partnership: in 2027 and 2028, AWS plans to bring two million additional Nvidia GPUs – Blackwell Ultra, Rubin and Rubin Ultra – online.
Over three million GPUs
With the two million new chips, Nvidia’s total capacity introduced across AWS this year rises to more than three million GPUs. AWS had previously committed to more than one million Nvidia GPUs starting in 2026. The compute is meant to power customer workloads from agentic AI and scientific research to “physical AI” (robotics).
AI factories for the US government too
The expanded collaboration also covers “AI factories,” networking, data processing and open models. In addition, the two companies plan to build AI factories for the US government – including 100,000 GPUs on secured AWS infrastructure for federal agencies and national-security workloads.
