General Motors is standardizing its electric fleet: from model year 2027, all twelve EVs across Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC will come with a native NACS charging port as standard – letting them charge directly at Tesla Superchargers without an adapter.
What changes
So far, most 2026 GM models still have a CCS port and charge at NACS fast chargers only via an adapter. Only the Cadillac Optiq and the Chevrolet Bolt are native today. From 2027, the adapter is gone for all GM EVs.
The models affected
Going native with NACS are, among others, the Chevrolet Bolt EV, Equinox EV, Blazer EV and Silverado EV, the Cadillac Lyriq, Optiq, Vistiq and Escalade IQ, plus the GMC Hummer EV and Sierra EV.
Why it matters
The Tesla-based NACS standard is becoming the de facto norm in North America. A native port makes charging simpler for GM drivers and opens up the large Supercharger network without any adapter.
