During IFA week in Berlin, Teufel is launching the IKONIO – a compact all-in-one Wi-Fi speaker that aims to replace a classic hi-fi system and its subwoofer with 650 watts of continuous power, eight drivers and two 200-millimetre woofers. The price: 1,199.99 euros.
Eight drivers, bass down to 19 hertz
The IKONIO uses an active three-way concept: eight drivers – three tweeters, three midrange units and two powerful 200-millimetre subwoofers – sit in a sealed, force-balanced cabinet. They are driven by eight separate amplifier channels. Teufel quotes 650 watts RMS and up to 2,500 watts of peak power. Low-frequency extension reaches down to 19 hertz (at –6 dB), which is remarkable for this compact form factor.
A single unit hits up to 118 decibels of sound pressure; two IKONIOs wirelessly paired as a stereo set reach 124 decibels. The pentagonal cabinet measures roughly 30 by 30 by 38 centimetres and weighs about 17 kilograms. Cooling is entirely passive, with no fans.
Streaming built in, app control
Sources include AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Bluetooth 5.1, plus RCA and optical inputs and TuneIn internet radio. Teufel’s Dynamore Ultra technology spreads sound across three sides of the enclosure and offers Immersive, Omnidirectional and Mono modes.

The IKONIO is available now in black or white directly from Teufel – as a single unit or a wireless stereo set. With this price, the Berlin brand positions itself squarely against premium boxes such as those from Devialet.
