Sonos has unveiled the Ace Ultra, its second over-ear generation, priced at 449 euros in Germany. Pre-orders opened on 1 September 2026, with general availability from 29 September.
What the Ace Ultra improves
The headphones use new 40mm drivers and an adaptive ANC system with ten microphones. Sonos promises noise cancellation up to twice as effective as the first Ace model, along with an improved Aware mode for hearing your surroundings. Battery life rises to 35 hours with ANC enabled; the maker says three minutes of charging deliver three hours of music.
Headphone Linking as the standout feature
The key novelty is called “Headphone Linking”: the headphones connect over Wi-Fi directly to compatible Sonos products and can hand audio between devices without the phone needing to stay in range. Add Bluetooth 6.0, an Adaptive EQ tuning and expanded sound controls in the Sonos app.

Price and release
At 449 euros, the Ace Ultra sits alongside the flagship models from Sony and Bose. Sonos also showed the Beam Ultra soundbar for $699, which can likewise pair with the headphones over Wi-Fi. Both products go on sale from 29 September 2026.
