Google is apparently working on a new wearable under the Fitbit brand: the Fitbit Edge. Following an initial marketing leak in August and a regulatory filing with the US FCC in September, retailer listings featuring the device have now surfaced.
Hints at features and model lineup
According to reports based on retailer data shared by Android Headlines, the tracker is expected to offer support for apps and notifications, among other features. The new model will likely be positioned as the successor to the established Charge series.
The revealed specifications originate from an internal comparison chart comparing the Fitbit Edge model to devices dubbed Fitbit Air as well as the Pixel Watch 5, among others.
Context and availability
Although the recurring listings with retailers and regulatory authorities point to an imminent release, Google has not yet officially unveiled the wearable. Details regarding exact pricing, market launch dates, or specific sensor specs for the European market have therefore not yet been confirmed.
Interested users who are currently planning to purchase a new fitness tracker should wait for an official announcement from the manufacturer to compare exact technical specifications and prices.
