Huawei has officially launched sales of its new smartwatch lineup, the Huawei Watch 6. At the heart of the new generation is a 24-hour hypertension risk assessment feature powered by AI-based software analysis.
Medical Sensors and Partnerships
According to the manufacturer, the technology for continuous hypertension risk analysis was developed in collaboration with the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and the Shanghai Institute of Hypertension at Ruijin Hospital. Sensor data is captured throughout the day and interpreted by AI algorithms to highlight potential risks early on. The Watch 6 series system aims to provide full-day continuous monitoring.
Model Variants, Cases, and HarmonyOS 7
The software foundation is the new HarmonyOS 7 operating system. It integrates the Xiao Yi voice assistant, designed to work seamlessly with HarmonyOS smartphones and capable of prioritizing and presorting important notifications.
For the cases, Huawei relies on various form factors and materials:
- Watch 6 (Standard, 46 mm): 316L stainless steel case and spherical sapphire glass.
- Watch 6 (Standard, 42 mm): More compact version featuring an aerospace-grade aluminum alloy case.
- Watch 6 Pro (46 mm): Available in Space Exploration, Wood Brown, and Titanium Silver colorways.
- Watch 6 Pro (43 mm): Ceramic White and Star White editions.
