Amazon has comprehensively overhauled its e-reader lineup. In addition to classic editions for adults, the new generation includes updated versions for children as well as a selection of new accessories designed for a more comfortable reading experience.
Kindle Kids Gets a Color Model
As part of the fundamental refresh of its e-reader series, Amazon is launching new Kids editions right away. A key addition for young readers is the introduction of a color model featuring a color display. Alongside this color variant, regular models are also part of the manufacturer’s updated lineup once again.
New Reading Accessories: Remote Control, Cover, and Charging Dock
Alongside the new readers, Amazon is introducing matching accessories designed to make the reading experience more flexible. The new additions include:
- Remote control: A handy tool for users who prefer propping up their device while reading or keeping their hands warm under the blanket.
- Page-turn cover: A specially designed protective case for the e-readers.
- Charging dock: A dedicated charging dock for the e-readers.
What It Means for Users
The addition of a color model to the kids’ e-reader lineup broadens the range’s appeal. At the same time, the new accessories are aimed at greater day-to-day convenience: anyone who likes propping up their e-reader or keeping their hands tucked under a blanket will now be able to turn pages using the remote control.
Interested readers planning a new purchase or looking to make their current e-reader setup more convenient should check the compatibility of the new accessories as well as specific model variants prior to buying.
