Okay, this looks promising. Solar-powered cameras are a game-changer for home security. Any real-world experience with this model?

I’ve been using a similar model for about a year now. Works great during the day, but I noticed some issues at night. Not sure if this one has better low-light performance.

Night vision can be hit or miss on solar cameras. If you’re in a low-light area, maybe consider a model with infrared. But for what it’s worth, this one is a solid price.

Infrared is a good point. I’ve had some cameras that just didn’t cut it at night. Any idea if this one uses color or black-and-white night vision?

From what I’ve read, it uses black-and-white night vision. Some people prefer color, but in my experience, B&W is actually better for clarity in low light.

Heard it’s a good deal. I bought two last week. One is on the balcony, the other by the front door. No issues so far. Worth the price.

What about weather resistance? I live in a place that gets pretty rainy and humid. Any experience with that?

IP66 rating, so it should handle rain and dust. I’ve had mine out in the elements for months. No corrosion, no leaks.

Great to know. What about battery life? How long does it last between charges?

Yes, it comes with a backup battery. The main solar panel is enough for most conditions, but the backup kicks in if it’s too cloudy or dark for too long.

      2. MarieK

That’s a good range. I’ve seen some solar cameras that barely last a week. Any chance it has a backup power option?

    2. MartinW

I’d say 2–3 weeks on a full charge, depending on sunlight. But if it’s cloudy for a while, it might start using the backup battery.
