Heard this brand has some issues with cooling. Anyone else worried about that?

I ran some benchmarks on a similar model, and the thermal throttling wasn’t too bad. It’s not a gaming rig, but for light use it’s okay.

The Ryzen 5 3500U has a TDP of 15W, so thermal management is less of an issue. But if you’re doing heavy tasks, it might struggle.

I’ve used this chip in a couple of builds. It’s decent for office work and media streaming. Not great for rendering or gaming.

What about VRAM? I remember the 3500U only has 4GB of integrated graphics. That might be a bottleneck for some apps.

Yeah, that’s a limitation. For general use, it’s fine. But if you’re into video editing or 3D modeling, it’s not going to cut it.

For the price, it’s a decent option if you’re not pushing the hardware too hard. I’d say it’s a good buy for basic tasks.

I’m thinking about getting one for my kid’s schoolwork. Does it handle Chrome and Zoom well?

It’s not the fastest, but it’ll run those apps without issues. I’d say it’s more than enough for that use case.

What about connectivity? I remember seeing some reports about weak Wi-Fi on this model.

It uses an older Wi-Fi chip, so if you’re in an area with strong signal, it’s okay. But if you’re in an apartment with thick walls, you might want a better card.
