Encode and decode Base58
Base58 represents data with 58 characters, deliberately leaving out the easily confused characters zero, capital O, capital I and lowercase L. This makes strings more robust when typed – best known from Bitcoin addresses.
- Human-friendly: No ambiguous characters like 0/O or I/l.
- Compact: Shorter than hex, without special characters like Base64.
- Use: Crypto addresses, short URLs and IDs.
