How this rating comes about

Home Assistant calculates the rating itself: every add-on starts at 5, and each right it asks for or gives up moves the number. The same calculation runs here, on the configuration the add-on ships.

Starting value of every add-on 5
Opens no port to the outside +2
Result 7 / 8

A high number does not mean the add-on is good, and a low one does not mean it is dangerous – a backup add-on has to reach far into the system to do its job. The number says how much it is allowed to do, and the list above says what exactly.

Installation

  1. In Home Assistant open Settings → Add-ons → Add-on Store, and add the repository https://github.com/home-assistant/addons through the three-dot menu.
  2. Reload the store and open Whisper.
  3. Install the add-on and wait for the first start.

Home Assistant integration

  • Wyoming Protocol – The add-on announces itself, and this integration then sets itself up
  • Whisper – The integration for the same product
