once again have a direct way to unlock their ID card for official administrative matters. This process allows them to request the necessary letter to set a new PIN or activate the feature in the first place.

Significance for digital administration

For users, this step brings noticeable convenience when using digital public services. Many government portals and administrative procedures rely on secure identification via the online ID card. If access was lost due to a misplaced PIN, citizens were previously limited in their ability to complete administrative tasks conveniently from home.

What those affected can do now

Users who wish to use their national ID card for upcoming online administrative procedures but can no longer find their login details can now order the PIN reset letter online again. Once the documents have been received, the online ID function can be reactivated or set up for the first time, restoring full access to online services.

Sources: Stadt-Bremerhaven

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-6258556257245998"
data-ad-slot="4559785002"
data-ad-format="auto"></ins>

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
