En 1879, Edwin Hall a montr\u00e9 qu&#8217;un champ perpendiculaire \u00e9tait n\u00e9cessaire, principe utilis\u00e9 depuis lors dans l&#8217;analyse des capteurs et des mat\u00e9riaux. Le groupe dirig\u00e9 par Simranjeet Singh et Jyoti Katoch a construit des piles atomiquement minces \u00e0 partir du mat\u00e9riau quantique tantalum iridium telluride (TaIrTe4) et du compos\u00e9 magn\u00e9tique chrome germanium telluride (Cr2Ge2Te6). Dans ces conditions, une r\u00e9ponse anormale de Hall peut \u00eatre mesur\u00e9e m\u00eame avec un champ parall\u00e8le au plan mat\u00e9riel. Cela ouvre des perspectives pour des capteurs magn\u00e9tiques plus compacts dans l&#8217;\u00e9lectronique, les v\u00e9hicules et la technologie m\u00e9dicale, ainsi que pour la spintronics, qui utilise des \u00e9tats magn\u00e9tiques pour traiter l&#8217;information.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ce qui reste ouvert<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Contexte important : l&#8217;effet n&#8217;a \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9 jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent qu&#8217;\u00e0 de basses temp\u00e9ratures dans le laboratoire, sur des chemin\u00e9es de mat\u00e9riaux fabriqu\u00e9s sur mesure et de nanom\u00e8tres-fins. La question de savoir si elle peut \u00eatre reproduite \u00e0 temp\u00e9rature ambiante et dans des mat\u00e9riaux manufacturiers reste incertaine.
