The company says it is the largest equity financing ever completed by a privately held European technology firm.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Samsung leads the round<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The financing was led by South Korea&#8217;s Samsung Electronics alongside the EU-backed Scaleup Europe Fund (managed by EQT) and existing investor PSG Equity. According to the company, participants included Dutch chip-equipment maker ASML, US chipmaker Nvidia, and backers such as Advent, BlackRock, Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, Lightspeed and Salesforce Ventures. The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg also joined. to US providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic. &#8220;Organizations want frontier performance without becoming locked into infrastructure or governance they don&#8217;t control,&#8221; the company said. Its customers include European aerospace group Airbus. Mistral says it serves more than 125 large enterprises across around 20 countries and expects to reach roughly $1 billion in annual recurring revenue by year-end.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company plans to use the fresh capital chiefly to expand compute capacity and infrastructure, advance its open-weight models and grow internationally. Measured against OpenAI, recently valued at about $852 billion, the Paris challenger remains small.
