Two Senate departments are involved; officials had initially ruled out any leak of sensitive data.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Two Senate Departments Targeted<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the report, the attack hit the Berlin state network (Landesnetz) and thus the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Housing as well as the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and Environment. The incident was discovered on 14 August 2026; the data is said to have been exfiltrated beforehand, before the affected areas were disconnected from the network.<\/p><div id=\"netgu-435298047\" Officials now concede: &#8220;It cannot be ruled out that personal or other non-public data is also affected.&#8221; The scope and exact content of the leaked data are, according to the report, still under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Forensics Still Ongoing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The forensic analysis and a scan of the network are ongoing, and the ICT emergency task force (IKT-Notfallstab) remains active.
