The catch: the option was enabled for every account from the start \u2013 so every creator was included by default before there was any way to opt out at all.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There was no advance notice: no email and no pop-up. out<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The setting is called &#8220;Training for Generative AI&#8221; and can be found in account settings under &#8220;Security and Privacy&#8221;. According to Twitch, it covers a channel&#8217;s streams, VODs and clips as well as stream chats and the images and text on the channel page. Anyone who does not want this has to actively switch the toggle off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Criticism of the opt-out approach<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Asked why the feature relies on opting out rather than opting in, Twitch&#8217;s chief product officer said, in essence: &#8220;If this was opt-in, nobody would opt in.&#8221; He also could not confirm which content Amazon had already used for training before the toggle existed.
