Beide passen in eine Hand, beide brauchen wenig Strom, beide laufen leise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die Entscheidung f\u00e4llt trotzdem eindeutig aus \u2013 und zwar an einem einzigen Punkt, der in kaum einer Produktbeschreibung steht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Der entscheidende Unterschied: der RAM-Deckel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Proxmox ist nicht rechenhungrig, sondern speicherhungrig.<\/strong> Jede virtuelle Maschine bekommt ihren eigenen Arbeitsspeicher fest zugewiesen, und der ist weg, egal ob die VM etwas tut oder nicht. Ein Beelink EQ14 etwa hat 16 GB DDR4 im <strong>Single-Channel<\/strong> verbaut \u2013 das hei\u00dft in aller Regel: ein Steckplatz, und damit ist bei 16 GB Schluss. Shipping<\/span>\n                                    <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        \n            <\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wann der neue Mini-PC trotzdem gewinnt<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Es gibt drei F\u00e4lle, in denen der N150 die bessere Wahl ist:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Zwei Netzwerkanschl\u00fcsse ab Werk.<\/strong> Wenn Du eine Firewall wie OPNsense virtualisieren willst, brauchst Du zwei Ports \u2013 WAN und LAN. Der Beelink EQ14 bringt sie mit, ein Tiny-PC nicht.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Zwei M.2-Steckpl\u00e4tze.<\/strong> Der EQ14 hat neben der verbauten SATA-SSD zwei M.2-PCIe-3.0-Pl\u00e4tze \u2013 damit l\u00e4sst sich schneller Speicher f\u00fcr VMs nachr\u00fcsten, ohne etwas auszubauen.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Absolute Sparsamkeit.<\/strong> Die N-Serie ist im Leerlauf noch gen\u00fcgsamer als ein sechs Jahre alter i5. Bei einem Ger\u00e4t, das rund um die Uhr l\u00e4uft, macht das \u00fcber Jahre einen sp\u00fcrbaren Unterschied.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Punkt 1 ist der h\u00e4ufigste echte Grund. Wer Proxmox nur als Unterbau f\u00fcr ein paar Dienste nutzt, ist damit gut bedient \u2013 <strong>solange 16 GB reichen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Was Proxmox wirklich braucht<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>Anforderung<\/th><th>Mindestens<\/th><th>Sinnvoll<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Arbeitsspeicher<\/td><td>8 GB<\/td><td><strong>32 GB<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Prozessorkerne<\/td><td>2<\/td><td><strong>4\u20136<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Virtualisierung im BIOS<\/td><td><strong>VT-x<\/strong><\/td><td>VT-x und VT-d<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Systemlaufwerk<\/td><td>SSD<\/td><td><strong>NVMe-SSD<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Netzwerk<\/td><td>1 Gbit\/s<\/td><td>2,5 Gbit\/s oder zwei Ports<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>VT-d ist der Punkt, den man leicht \u00fcbersieht.<\/strong> Ohne diese Funktion kannst Du keine Hardware direkt an eine VM durchreichen \u2013 keine Netzwerkkarte, keinen USB-Controller, keine Grafikeinheit. Beide Ger\u00e4tetypen k\u00f6nnen es, aber es muss im BIOS eingeschaltet sein, und ab Werk steht es oft auf \u201eAus&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zum Systemlaufwerk noch ein Hinweis: <strong>Proxmox schreibt viel<\/strong> \u2013 Protokolle, Cluster-Zustand, Statistiken. Billige SSDs ohne DRAM-Puffer verschlei\u00dfen dabei schneller als erwartet. F\u00fcr das System reicht eine kleine, solide SSD; die Nutzdaten geh\u00f6ren ohnehin woanders hin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Drei Knoten statt einem: der Cluster-Gedanke<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sobald mehr als ein Ger\u00e4t im Spiel ist, wird Proxmox interessant: Mehrere Knoten bilden einen Verbund, VMs lassen sich im laufenden Betrieb verschieben, und bei Ausfall eines Ger\u00e4ts \u00fcbernimmt ein anderes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Der wichtige Punkt dabei ist die Drei.<\/strong> Ein Proxmox-Cluster braucht f\u00fcr Entscheidungen eine Mehrheit. Bei zwei Knoten gibt es keine \u2013 f\u00e4llt einer aus, steht der andere still, weil er nicht wei\u00df, ob er allein zust\u00e4ndig ist. Mit drei Knoten funktioniert es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Genau deshalb sind gebrauchte Tiny-PCs im Homelab so beliebt: <strong>Drei St\u00fcck kosten zusammen weniger als ein ordentlicher Server<\/strong> und passen nebeneinander in ein Regalfach.
